Thanksgiving

October 11, 2014

"If the only prayer you said in your whole life was 'thank you', that would suffice." - Johannes Meister Eckhart

What does Thanksgiving mean?  Well, quite literally it means to give thanks for the bountiful harvest that nature has provided.  It's a time to pause and reflect on our many blessings.  Of course, acknowledging our blessings shouldn't be limited to one day. Living in a state of gratitude helps us focus on the good in life and appreciate what we have instead of what we lack. This can do wonders for our health and well being.  Studies have even shown this. Check out the work of Dr. Robert A. Emmons of the University of California and Dr. Michael E. McCullough of the University of Miami --> http://emmons.faculty.ucdavis.edu/gratitude-and-well-being

What am I grateful for? A multitude of things, but I'll narrow it down to four:

I am grateful for my sanctuary, my home and place of business.  I get to live and work in a place of beauty, surrounded by plants, trees and wildlife. While working, I can literally watch deer, hawks, squirrels, groundhogs, the occasional bear, weasels, birds of all varieties and even hear the hauntingly beautiful howls and yips of coyote. It all gives me such joy!

I am grateful for my family.  We are like a team, and every member has his/her moments to shine with the rest of us cheering in the bleachers. I am looking forward to family Thanksgiving dinner where it is a tradition to go around the table, taking turns sharing one thing that we are grateful for this year.

I am grateful for Earth Elementals Soap, and its seven years in business. It is truly an immense pleasure to create natural, plant based body care products, and I honestly can say that I look forward to each and every day of work.

And finally, I am grateful for my EES customers. You are the reason that this business exists! I love the feedback you give; love hearing that our products have helped with your health issues, your recommendations for new products and the occasional request to promise never to discontinue your beloved soap variety... haha.  How lucky am I? Over these past seven years, many of you I can now call friends. From the bottom of my heart, I give thanks to each and every one of you and for your continued support of Earth Elementals.

Wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving! ~ With gratitude, Lynn
