What is the shelf life of your products?

Soap Bars - 1 year
As natural soap ages, some of the scent and color will fade. The soap is still good to use and will lather and clean as it is supposed to do. As an experiment, I have kept a bar of soap here that I made 9 years ago. The scent has completely faded, the colour faded, but the soap bar is still good to use.
Body Butters, Body Polish, Body Oil - 6 months
You will find no chemical preservatives like parabens, tetrasodium EDTA, BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) or BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) in our products. We choose to use natural preservatives to maximize shelf life such as essential oils - lemon, eucalyptus, lavender and rosemary - salt, neem oil, honey, sugar and vitamin E.
The fact that these products are concentrated plant oils and butters and do not contain water, minimizes the chance for spoilage.
Because our hands can be a host to bacteria, we suggest that you avoid dipping your fingers into the product. Try using a clean spoon or popsicle stick to obtain the amount you wish to use on your skin.
Elemental Mist - 4 months
Our room and body sprays do contain water, but they also contain essential oils which help prolong shelf life. Store away from heat and shake well before use.
Salve + Deodorant - 6 months to 1 year
For maximum effective use, we suggest that you discard before 1 year.
Herbal Body Powder - 6 to 8 months
Close sifter opening after use to keep fresh and prevent moisture from affecting the powder. 
Lip Balm - 6 months
We recommend using within six months after opening and store your balm away from direct heat.

How long does your soap bar last?

On average, 3 to 4 weeks of daily use.

Store your natural soap bars in a cool, dark place for optimum shelf life. Keep it in a well drained soap dish like our wooden soap saver dish so soap stays dry between uses.

Do you have a retail location in Hammonds Plains?

No, we don't. Our studio is closed to the public.

Where can I find your products?

Here, on our online store. We also have a main floor booth - harbourside - at the Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market on Saturdays between 7am - 3pm, and our products are available at these fine locations. As many of our stockists do not carry the entire product line, we suggest calling them first to make sure that they stock your favourite soap and body care item. 

I live in the Halifax region and would like to place an order for pick up instead of having it shipped to me. I know your studio is closed to the public, but is there a way I can order from you and pick up locally?

Yes, we have two pick up locations available:

Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market – 7am to 3pm Saturdays

Hi-liner Fishing Gear & Tackle, Unit 9, 155 Chain Lake Drive (Bayer's Lake Industrial Park), Halifax - 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday; 9am to 1pm Saturdays

Email us your order, and where you would like to pick it up. We will confirm the order with you including total and when the order will be available for pick up. Payment can either be in advance via online billing, or pay when you pick up your items. 

What are your business hours?

Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm; Saturday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Do you offer any products that are unscented?

Yes, we do. The following items have no scent added:

I have multiple allergies and have to be careful in choosing products for my skin. How do I know if your products contain something that I am sensitive to?

Each and every product on this site has a complete ingredient listing. Click on the product and just below the description, you will see a listing for ingredients for that particular product.

If you have skin sensitivities, we recommend performing a skin patch test for compatibility prior to using any new skin/body care products.

Are your products gluten free?

Earth Elementals is not a certified gluten free company. The majority of our ingredients would pose no problem for people who are gluten sensitive, including the tocopherol (vitamin e) which is gluten free. That said, we cannot guarantee that there is 0% gluten contamination due to the fact that the certified organic oats that we use in our soap bars - Oats, Honey & Coconut Milk, Lavender Oatmeal and Harvest Moon Pumpkin - are not processed in a gluten free facility.

I wish to order my favourite product, but you are sold out. When will it be back in stock?

We're so sorry about that! Sometimes the estimated date that product will be back in stock is posted at the top of the online product description, but it would be best to contact us.  You can also sign up for our newsletter to get product updates, recipes and the latest news (see bottom of the page for the newsletter subscribe form).

Where do you ship?

Currently, we ship to Canada and the United States (contiguous). Details on shipping, returns and pick ups can be found here.

How much will it cost to ship my order?

Canada: Orders $75+ free shipping; orders under $75 are charged a low flat rate of $10.00.

United States (contiguous): Orders are charged a flat rate of $25.00.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes, we do offer wholesale pricing to qualified retail locations. Our wholesale contact information form can be found here. Don't forget to provide your company name, brief description of your business, street and website address, tel. phone number and which products you are interested in purchasing.
